NEA Member Benefits (NEAMB) is accepting applications for the position of Manager, Member Knowledge. This position leads the analytics strategy and the development of processes and procedures to efficiently operationalize that strategy. Starting with a thorough understanding of the Member Experience and campaign strategies, the incumbent collaborates with executives, marketers, and data and technology specialists to develop business insights that lead to improved business outcomes. This position requires a business mindset and the ability to convert sprawling data sets into actionable business insights.
Lead team of database specialists and analysts to enable marketing operations and to use that work to inform actionable member insights. Ensure marketing operations activity correctly reflects campaign plans and member contact rules, and ensure marketing team has clear understanding of changes within the membership file and other data changes that could affect marketing planning. Lead effort to ensure organization’s deep understanding of members and related constituencies, including the management of member personas and the identification and understanding of member journeys. Understand available member data and data structure and collaborate with internal and external resources to enhance the scope and quality of data to expand organization’s understanding of members. Manage team of outside research consultants and leverage modern research techniques to better understand members’ experiences and expectations at key touch points. Communicate research results to organization using channels, tactics and cadence that maximizes organizational understanding and highlights opportunities for follow-up activity.
Lead effort to optimize communication between analytics team and marketing and information technology (IT). Ensure analytics intake process is optimized to enable strategic business understanding, cross-departmental collaboration, and efficiency. Lead ongoing process of defining business needs for analytics technology and processes, and working with IT to translate needs into requirements for IT enablement. The incumbent is responsible for the development of an annual departmental budget for internal and external (e.g., consultants) services.
A BS/BA Degree is required; an advanced degree, such as an MBA, is desirable and a combination of at least seven years of experience in monitoring, manipulating, and drawing insights from data; developing and communicating strategies and inspiring business evolution; researching, evaluating and negotiating business partnerships; evaluating and improving business operations; managing, coaching, and inspiring personnel; and assessing and mitigating situational risk.
